The short answer
When designing a shirt for an event, consider the area the race bib might cover. A large central sponsor may look very visible in the draft but be hidden during the race.
What to consider
How the race bib is used depends on the event’s organisation. Check the guidance before fixing a final position. Don’t automatically move a brand to the sleeve or back without checking the sponsor agreement: the desired exposure is a commercial as well as a graphic decision.
How to prepare your project
Write in the notes that the garment is for a race with a bib and state the spaces to keep clear. Assess with the style centre a layout that keeps the group recognisable even when part of the front is covered. Check the draft with real use in mind, not just the photo of the empty garment.
Before continuing
- Event requirements checked
- Potentially covered area considered
- Partner position agreed
Can I freely choose how to attach the race bib?
Check the event rules. Customising the shirt doesn’t replace those requirements.
